Cell Vocabulary Review Game
Cells Learning Goal #1: I can idenitfy the different parts of a microscope and can accurately use it to examine a variety of items.
To observe cells we must learn how to use microscopes. Students must know the correct names for the parts of the microscope. They should also be able to use it correctly to view different types of samples.
Test Yourself!
Visit the website below to test yourself on the parts of a microscope:

Cells Learning Goal #2: I understand that all organisms are composed of cells and can identify the basic parts of a cell.
Students must understand the cell theory and be able to apply it to real-world situations. They will also have to identify and know the fuction of the following cell organelles: cell membrane, nucleus, mitochondria, cell wall, vacuole.

Test Yourself!
Go to http://www.sheppardsoftware.com/health/anatomy/cell/cell_game.htm to play an online game where you quiz yourself about the parts of a cell.
Cells Learning Goal #3: I can compare and contrast single-celled and multicellular organisms.
Students will have to understand the characteristics of unicellular and multicellular organisms. They will also have to compare and contrast the two types of organisms. To learn about each type of organism students completed a research project about unicellular and multicellular microorganisms. To see examples of student work click here.
Cells Learning Goal #4: I can describe the levels of organization in organisms including cells, tissues, organs, and organ systems.
For this learning goal students studied various organs and organ systems. Students should know the definition of cell, tissue, organ, and organ system. Below are the notes we took in class.
Cells Learning Goal #5: I can explain how nutrients pass in and out of the cell membrane through diffusion, osmosis, and active transport.
Below are the notes we took in class. Students will need these to complete the homework assignment attached below.

Cells Learning Goal #6: I can describe how an organism grows and develops through cell division and specialization.
Below are the the notes we took in class. about how cells and organisms grow.
