Heredity
In this mini-unit students will learn about heredity and different types of reproduction. Watch the video below to get an introduction to what genes are and how they are passed down through generations!
Heredity Learning Goal #1: I can compare and contrast how traits are passed down through generations both sexually and asexually.
Heredity Learning Goal #2: I can compare and contrast both the advantages and disadvantages of sexual and asexual reproduction.
Sexual Reproduction:
Advantages:
- More genetic variation
- Easier to adapt to environment over time
Disadvantages:
- Need two individuals to reproduce
Asexual Reproduction:
Advantages:
- Only need one individual to complete
- Can reproduce rapidly
Disadvantages:
- Less Genetic Variation
Advantages:
